691,746. Seats. COX & CO. (WATFORD), Ltd., and TOON, C. July 20, 1951 [July 20, 1950], No. 18121/50. Class 52(ii) In vehicle seats the seat proper and the back rest are. carried by separate tubular frames the ends of one of which frames can be slidably connected to the other frame. As shown, the frame for the seat comprises a tube a bent into U-shape in plan and the frame for the back rest comprises a tube b with its ends bent as at b<SP>1</SP> so as to be inserted into the ends of the tube a. The tube a is preferably welded to a tacking strip a<SP>2</SP> and the tube b is formed as fingers b<SP>2</SP> for insertion into the tube a and may also be provided with a liner e.
