Abstract

347,425. Vapour burners. SOC. ANON LE CARBONE, 37, Rue de Paris, Gennevilliers, Seine, France. March 26, 1930, No. 9693. Convention date, Sept. 13, 1929. [Class 75 (i).] Vaporizing apparatus.-To enable non-volatile fuels to be used in brazing, soldering and welding lamps, the fuel in its passage from the reservoir to the burner is decomposed by traversing a mass of heated activated carbon. In the brazing lamp shown the fuel is passed through an annular chamber j which surrounds the burner c and is filled with activated carbon in the form of rings, segments, fragments or powder. The chamber is preferably made of threaded parts so as to allow of the insertion of fresh carbon. The tubular passages in the head d contain wire gauze. The fuel may be conveyed to the burner head by air pressure or by a wick. The burner is heated initially by burning some of the lamp fuel in a cup containing pieces of carbon.
