Abstract
22,401. BÚrnardy, E. Oct. 22. Lighting gas and oil lamps; torches. -An igniting -device, such as is described in Specification No. 3683, A.D. 1899, comprising means for ejecting a puff of inflammable vapour over a pilot flame on to the burner to be lighted, is provided with a guarded flash passage G3, Fig. 2, for use among inflammable surroundings. By squeezing a bulb B<1>, air is forced through a tube A<1> into a chamber A containing benzol, and a puff of vapour is ejected through tubes C, H. The lower end of the tube H is secured by a union H<1> and the upper end is sprung into an aperture of the casing G. The pilot flame F is maintained by oil in a chamber D.
