Abstract

8744. Craetz, M. April 15. Lighting and extinguishing gas.- A tube n, Fig. 1, for igniting the pilot - jet m of a cluster -burner inverted lamp is arranged with its lower end above an ignition pipe o so that, when the gas issuing from the pipe o is ignited, the flame travels up the tube n and ignites the pilot-jet m, which then lights the main burners i<1>. The pilot-jet m, ignition pipe o, and the main burners may be supplied through the same cock, or the pipe o may be provided with a separate cock o<1>. In the latter case, the ports in the gas cock h, Fig. 3, are arranged so that, when the cock casing d is turned, the pilot-jet is supplied with gas before the burners.
