347,227. Pivoted sliding windows. EVANS, J. W., 11, Grosvenor Gardens, London. Jan. 24, 1930, No. 2542. [Class 20 (iii).] The pivots of pivoted sliding metal window sashes are formed by pressing outwardly bosses d from the metal of the sash and forming sockets h in an outer metal sliding stile or frame to carry said pivots. The pivot and socket may have liners to take wear and may have resilient stops to limit the turning movement such as a projection o and flat lined with packing, Fig. 6, or a projection and arcuate recess ; or the pivot and socket may be of elliptical formation, Fig. 8, to cause a braking effect in the open and closed positions. Weather checks j, k, and j<1>, k<1>, are formed on the sliding stile and sash respectively.
