Abstract

347,049. Power generating systems. RUTHSACCUMULATOR AKTIEBOLAG, 1A, Eriksbergsgatan, Stockholm. June 12, 1930, No. 18097. Convention date, June 26, 1929. Drawings to Specification. [Class 122 (iii).] To reduce the capital expenditure on electric cables and transformers, the energy to supply peak loads is transmitted from a power station or stations to a heat accumulator plant near the peakload consumers as heat, the base load being supplied directly as electric current through cables ; the stored heat is used as required by an electric generator in the peak load station. Steam, hot water or other heat conveying medium would be continuously transmitted at an average rate or the accumulator may be charged during the night. A power generator may be interposed between the steam generators in the main station and the long distance pipe line to the accumulator plant. The condensate from the peak load generator may be led back to the boilers, a water vessel being arranged between the condenser and the return pipe. A reserve boiler may be installed at the peak load station. Specification 217,952, [Class 122 (iii), Steam engines, Kinds &c.], is referred to.
