Abstract

346,856. Bottle closures. ANDERSON, D. S., 156, St. Vincent Street, Glasgow. Jan. 23, 1930, No. 2321. [Class 125 (iii).] A metal capsule 1, of the type comprising an upper cap-portion, an intermediate tear-away portion, and a lower skirt portion which is spun on the bottle neck, has the cap portion 2 screwed so that when the intermediate portion 3 is torn away, by a tongue 11 projecting into a space 10, between lines of weakenings 7, 8, the cap may be unscrewed, leaving the skirt 4 attached to the bottle neck 12. The cap preferably contains a cork washer with a metal foil lining.
