Abstract
453,025. Tamper-proof bottle-stoppers. ANCHOR CAP & CLOSURE CORPORATION, 22, Queens Street, Long Island City, New York, U.S.A. Sept. 16, 1935, No. 25630. Convention date, Sept. 17, 1934. Addition to 440,850. [Classes 125 (i) and 125 (iii)] [See also Group V] A temper-proof closure for a bottle &c. has a frangible band 4 combined with a metallic ratchet member 5 which engages with a series of teeth 12 on the inner part of the bottom of the cap 2 when the cap is screwed down. The projections on the member 5 are bent upwardly. The band and ring are locked against relative rotation in at least one direction. Projections 7 and 8 on the bottle neck lock the band 4 against relative rotation. In order to open the bottle it is necessary to break the band 4, by unscrewing the cap. The caps which are moulded from synthetic resin &c. are formed by stripping them from the moulding pin 31, Fig. 10, while the caps are hot with a stripping plate 32. The exteriors of the caps are moulded in an enveloping hob 33.
