Abstract
345,882. Endless - chain elevators. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London. -(Assignees of Currie, G.; 515, Campbell Street, Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) May 27, 1930, No. 16312. Convention date, May 27, 1929. [Class 78 (i).] In an endless chain elevator of the kind in which the chain is fixed in its path by a guide, each load carrier is provided with a shaped shoe or guide adapted for engagement with a correspondingly shaped lug mounted on the succeeding carrier to interlock the carriers during their vertical movement. The endless chain 5 is guided by tracks 46 of wood or fibre and supports the carriers A .. F by means of arms 11, 12. A shaped shoe 54, Fig. 3, is supported by a bracket 72, Fig. 2, attached to the end member 18 of the base of each carrier, and a shoe 154 is bolted directly to the end member. Lugs 67, 167 are attached to the supporting rod 14 at the top of each carrier, and engage the shoes 54, 154 during vertical movement. During transfer from one vertical run to the other swinging is prevented by the engagement of the shoes 54 with one of the arms 55, 56, 57 rotatable with the driving sprocket 53, or with one of the arms 59, 60, 61 mounted on a driven sprocket 62.
