Abstract

345,571. Distributers for shingle. FOWLER, C. H. and WALKER, H., Steam Plough & Locomotive Works, Leeds. May 27, 1930, No. 16314. Addition to 333,063, [Class 6 (i), Cultivating implements &c.]. [Class 6 (i).] In the apparatus described in the parent Specification the inclined spreading- tray below the hopper outlet is given an up and down jogging or vibrating motion instead of an endwise reciprocating motion, the movement being imparted by projections on the rims of the road wheels engaging with the tray or with parts fixed thereto. The wheel rims may be provided with rivets having heads 6 adapted to engage with rollers 7 on a bar 8 fastened to the tray 5 which is pivotally connected to brackets 8a on the hopper 1. A corrugated cam strip may be used instead of the rivet heads. The tray may be adjusted or raised out of action by turning a handwheel 12 provided with a screwed spindle engaging with a tapped bracket 13 and connected to the bar 8 by a swivel connection 14 and wire rope 15.
