Surface treatment with liquid materials. - Apparatus for r spraying surfacing material on to roads is provided with a spray-pipe c having elongated holes d. over which a curved plate h, also having elongated holes, is reciprocated to regulate the spray. The pipe c and plate h are provided with studs l, m which enter the holes d, i, so as to clear them when the plate h is reciprocated. The pipe c is mounted on bands f provided with grooves to guide the plate h. Lubricant may be admitted between the pipe c and plate h.
