Abstract

345,522. Saddle covers ; luggagecarriers. WICKS, L. A., 132, Elm Road, Leigh-on-Sea. April 10, 1930, No. 11404. [Classes 136 (i) and 136 (iii).] A detachable cover for cycle &c. saddles comprises a plate 1, of metal or other rigid or substantially rigid material, and provided with depending side flanges 2 and with means, such as end flanges la, 1b, for attaching the cover to the rear of the cycle when not in use. As shown in Fig. 3, the cover forms a luggage-carrier when not in use as a cover, and is attached to the rear fork 4 and the mudguard 5 by clips, which are clamped in position by plates and bolts and are provided with spring tongues to receive the flanges 1b, 1a. Alternatively, the spring clips may be provided on the cover, and corresponding flanges &c. on the fork and mudguard.
