345,433. Treating felts with liquids. VEREINIGTE HUTSTOFFWERKE BLOCK & HIRSCH, C. F. DONNER GES., Niederrad, Frankfort-on-Main, Germany. Feb. 15, 1930, No. 5161. Convention date, March 22, 1929. [Class 76.] A machine for applying secreting or carrotting liquid to pelts comprises an endless band dipping into the liquid and contacting with the pelt and a brush, coacting with a second endless band, for brushing the liquid into the pelt. A band 16 of spongy rubber or the like dips into the liquid and issuing therefrom passes between doctor rollers 19, 20 and contacts the pelt beneath the roller 9. The pelt then passes over a brush 39, which coacts with a band 31 driven at the same rate as the band 16 but at a slower rate than the brush. The treated skin is delivered by a band 59. A liquid pressure gauge 67-69 is provided to indicate the amount of treating liquid in the reservoir.
