Abstract
387,781. Developing prints. HALDEN & CO., Ltd., J. and HALDEN, W. A., Rowsley Works, Reddish, near Stockport. Nov. 13, 1931, No. 31435. [Class 98 (ii).] In apparatus for developing and otherwise treating prints the prints are held by suction on an endless belt 11, Fig. 1, which carries them, with the sensitized surface downwards, over liquid applying means, such as a sponge, wick or rollers 6, 7, 8 dipping into troughs 3, 4, 5. The rollers may rotate in either direction relatively to the movement of the print. The belt may be of rubber formed with pockets 12, Fig. 2, for suction purposes and the print 16 pressed on the belt by a roller 14. Alternatively a wire mesh or felt belt may be used in conjunction with suction apparatus. Alternatively again sufficient suction may be obtained by wetting the belt with a water spray 13 before applying the back of the print 16. A squeegee roller 17 removes surplus liquid applied by the first roller. The treated prints are removed from the belt by a stripper 15.
