Abstract

1,149,354. Electro-photographic development. KALLE A.G. Aug.11, 1966 [Aug.11, 1965], No.35943/66. Heading G2H. An electrostatic image on an electrophotographic material is developed by feeding the material by rollers 6 and a guide 8 into contact with a developer liquid on an applicator roller 1, and passing the developed material over drying guides, through squeegee rollers 11 into a tray 12; a wiper member 2 forms with the upper surface of the roller 1 a trough into which developer liquid is sprayed from one or more nozzles 3 to form a developer reservoir from which developer is transported by the rotation of roller 1 over the top of the roller and then down to the lower part of the roller opposite the wiper member 2 where it contacts the image-bearing member to effect development. The developed image may be washed before drying by passing it under a roller 13 and spraying carrier liquid on to the material and roller 13 from a nozzle 14. Excess developer liquid and carrier liquid are collected for re-use by funnels 15. The apparatus is particularly suitable for reversal development.
