[Class 108 (ii).] Slipping of wheels, preventing.-A mixture of sand or like material and a liquid of a viscous or adhesive nature is ejected, under pressure, from a receptacle fitted over the tread portion 9 of the wheel. In the device shown, the mixture is contained in a vessel 2 fitted with a spring-loaded plunger 7 and a valve 3 the rod 4 of which is actuated from the driver's seat by mechanical, pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, or other means. In modifications, the ejection of the mixture is effected by admitting, or controlling, compressed air.
