[Class 120 (ii).] In flyer spinning or doubling machines the flyer motors 8 and drawing-roller motors 9 are supplied from the slip rings of a motor 4 excited from the mains 1. At starting, the motor 4 is run up to speed and thereafter the switch 6 is closed and the motor 4 gradually brought to rest by a friction brake, the reverse operation being used for stopping the motors 8, 9.
