Abstract
343,852. Smokers' stands. DALTON, H., 105, Summer Street, Stamford, Connecticut, U.S.A. June 6, 1930, No. 17598. Convention date, April 23. [Class 130.] A stand comprises a hollow base 5, a cover 16 hinged to the base, and means in the base for supporting a receptacle 38. The upper portion of the stand includes a length of tubing 17 seated on the cover 16, a tapered portion 21 and a table 20 rigidly secured together by a standard 23. On a carrying handle 27 rests 47 for cigars &c. are located above a central opening in the table. The base and cover are hinged together at 28 and opposite the hinge are members 30, 31 which carry a spring-pressed pin 33 and a co-operating socket 37, Fig. 4, to enable the two sections to be securely locked together. The water bowl 38, Fig. 3, is suspended in a swinging cradle which is formed from inner and outer rings 40, 39 connected to pivots 41. The outer ring 39 is mounted on the section 5 by pivots 42, which are at right-angles to the pivots 41. The bowl 38 has a flange 45 which rests on an inner ring 40 and springs 46 over the flange hold the bowl suspended in the ring. The bowl is so dimensioned that in the swinging movement of the rings it fails to contact with the walls.
