Abstract

342,970. Spray burners. BOYD, G. W., 121,. Nicolson Street, Edinburgh. May 5, 1930, No. 13724. [Class 75 (i).] A liquid fuel burner comprises concentric tubes A, B forming passages E, F for the fuel and air or steam respectively, the end of the tube A being fitted with a plug L and collar G. The fuel issues through holes P in the plug into an annular space between the plug and an extension G<1> of the collar and then, retarded by the corrugated undersurface M of the plug head N, enters radially an annular space J between the head N and a choke K on the tube B. The air from the tube B passes through inclined holes H in the collar G into the space J to atomize the fuel.
