Abstract

<PICT:0342949/III/1> A device for indicating the presence and proportion of absorbable gases comprises a casing 2 containing a porous cylinder 1 and having endplates 4, 6 which also close the ends of the cylinder, a removable cartridge 5 comprising a chemical absorbent in a permeable container, which is inserted through a hole in the baseplate and clamped thereto so as to make a gastight joint, a flexible diaphragm contained in a case 13 mounted on the top plate and communicating with the interior of the cylinder, and a vacuum indicator 15 operated by the diaphragm. A cover 17, handle 18, and base 21 are provided. The gas to be tested enters the casing by the inlet 19 and may be aspirated through it by means of the pipe 20.
