Abstract
342,635. Gramophone pick-ups. VEGA MANUFACTURING CORPORATION, 7, West 10th Street, Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Ruben, S.; 801, Riverside Drive, New York, U.S.A.) June 6, 1930, No. 17638. Convention date, June 12, 1929. [Class 40 (iv).] A gramophone pick-up comprises a base supporting a stylus constituting a vibration responsive electrode which is adapted to make surface contact with a cuprous oxide electrode. As shown, a base 1 of insulating material has mounted thereon copper plates 2, the opposing surfaces of which are coated with layers 3 of cuprous oxide which are in surface contact with an electrode 4 consisting of a coating of deflocculated graphite or finely ground silver on a rubber block. The electrode 4 is attached by band 5 to a stylus 6 rotatably mounted on a plate 7 attached to plate 1. Rubber sheets 8 are located between plate 7 and the stylus.
