Abstract
342,602. Fluid - pressure brakes. HILDEBRAND, W., 3, Ulmenplatz, Lichterfelde, Berlin. April 4, 1930, No. 10792. Convention date, April 26, 1929. [Class 103 (i).] Relates to fluid-pressure brakes of the kind described in Specification 318,940, [Class 103 (i), Brakes &c.], and comprising a primary control valve st1 controlled by the pressure in the train-pipe L and also that in an auxiliary reservoir B and a secondary control valve st2 controlled by the pressures in the auxiliary reservoir B, the brake cylinder C and that in a chamber A and including a second brake cylinder supply reservoir R supplied through a throttling device D. To avoid the possibility of the valves returning to the application position after the release operation due to local fall of the train-pipe pressure by reason of the continued supply of the second reservoir R, this reservoir instead of being directly connected to the train-pipe is arranged to be supplied only when the primary control valve st1 is in the release position. For this purpose the reservoir R may as shown be connected to the valve chamber of the valve st1 with the interposition of a non-return valve E or to the rear of the piston chamber of this valve by a pipe F or through a duct controlled by the slide valve S which is only open in the release position of the slide valve.
