Abstract
342,453. Belt gearing. SAXON, Ltd., G. and HOLLAND, A., Openshaw Engineering Works, Openshaw, Manchester. Dec. 6, 1929, No. 37420. [Class 80 (i).] For placing a band on a rotating pulley, an arm A, preferably curved, turns on a pivot B above or below the shaft C<1> and carries two adjustable inclined fingers a<1>, a2 supporting the band while idle. The arm may be raised to lift the fingers above the pulley C by a rope E passing over a pulley on the frame and secured to the arm, a spring B<1> providing for return. The band is removed from the pulley by a finger g on a rod G shifted by a rope H and returned by a spring g<1>. A guide roller and guard K prevent entanglement of the band with the mounting-gear.
