Abstract

312,772. Blomley, F., and Tweedales & Smalley (1920), Ltd. April 27, 1928. Spindle-driving apparatus. -The tension or jockey pulleys of the spindle. driving tapes of ring spinning and doubling frames are carried in brackets pivotally mounted about an axis a<1> radial to the pulley in the pivoted supporting- arm A, and secured in one or the other of two positions determined by the ends of a slot a<2>, Fig. 5, so as to be adapted to the run of the belt for twist or weft. The axis a<1> may be in the central plane of the pulley or to one side of it. The arm A is mounted on one or the other of two longitudinally-spaced hoops b on its pivot shaft B according to the twist or weft adjustment of the pulley. In the working position the axis a<1> is inclined to the horizontal at about 45‹.
