178,561. Higginson, J., and Arundel, Coulthard, & Co., Ltd. Jan. 19, 1920. Spindle-driving apparatus. -The arms that carry the tension pulleys of the spindle-driving bands of yarn or thread doubling and like machines are arranged so that the pulleys may be simultaneously repositioned when the lead of the bands is altered to reverse the direction of rotation of the spindles. The arms are carried on a rod a, which is connected to a rod b, adapted to be moved longitudinally by screw or rack-andpinion mechanism, or is connected to levers or brackets adjustable in slotted supporting-members.
