[Class 20 (ii).] Sheet-metal planks for use in supporting the sides of excavations are formed by bending over the flanges at obtuse angles to the web, one or both of the flanges being again bent to form an interlocking joint with the adjacent plank. The planks may be provided with projections 3 to position the stiffening members C used in supporting the planks. The projections may be hemispherical or square or rectangular and the plank may be provided with a central corrugation to further stiffen it.
