340,121. Lubricating. JUHLIN, G. A., Redscar, Moss Lane, Timperley, Cheshire, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London. Dec. 12, 1929, No. 38153. [Classes 12 (i) and 12 (ii).] Channels and reservoirs in ball or roller bearings; lubricant, retaining. -The housing of a ball or roller bearing 2 is provided with end walls 13, 15 and partitions 12, 14 extending to the shaft 1, where they are provided with grooves 16, which may contain packing, so as to form inner chambers 8, 9 open to the bearing and outer chambers 10, 11. The inner chambers contain grease of a low melting-point, supplied through passages 17, 18, 19, to lubricate the bearing, while the outer chambers contain grease of a higher melting-point, supplied through passages 21, 22, 23, to prevent escape of the grease from the inner chambers along the shaft.
