Abstract
339,171. Benz, E. Stutz-. Jan. 18, 1930. Doffing-arrangements.-In spinning, twisting, and like machines of the flyer type, wherein duplicate bobbin rails are employed for doffing, two series of pivoted rail carriers are provided which are at the same height when in the spinning axis, but alternately at different heights in front of and behind it, so that a bobbin rail placed on one carrier is automatically transferred to the other carrier by swinging the two carrier arms from the front of the machine towards the back or vice versa. The bobbin rail b1, Fig. 3, containing full bobbins a1, is lowered by the spinning lift carrier c on to the carrier arm e. The second carrier arm f supports a rail b2 containing empty bobbins a2. The two carrier arms are connected by a link p, and are both swung to the, left until the empty bobbin rail is in the spinning axis. The rail b2 is raised by the lift carrier c, the full bobbins a, are exchanged for empty ones, the latch p disconnected, and the arm f allowed to fall forward as in Fig. 5. The shaft g is now rotated and the two arms turned to the right, thus the empty bobbin rail is transferred to the, arm f Fig. 7. The, arm e is now turned to the left until it is in the spinning axis, and the link p engages the pin on the arm f. Thus the initial position of Fig 3 is reached. The relative vertical movement of the two faces supporting the bobbin rail may be modified by providing eccentric bearings for the arms, or by mounting them on the ends of a double armed lever.
