Abstract

339,075. Bush, S. J., and Steele, N. Nov. 4, 1929. Diaphragms.-A compound diaphragm comprises three or more cones a, b, c, having their apices interconnected and their peripheries mounted in separate frames d, e, f, adapted for relative adjustment so that each cone can be correctly tensioned. The intermediate frame e is carried on bolts h passing through the frame d and the frame f is carried on bolts i passing through the frame e, and nuts j, k enable the frames to be relatively adjustable. Each frame is grooved to accommodate a rubber tube g over which the diaphragm is drawn. For small loudspeakers the diaphragms a and b may be of equal size.
