Abstract
338,480. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabriek.en. Jan. 4, 1930, [Convention date]. Vacuum tubes.-The envelope of a thermionic valve or other discharge device is formed with a re-entrant part 3 enclosing a body 4, preferably of moulded insulating material, carrying one or more contacts 6, which mav thus lie partly or entirely within the re-entrant part. The body 4 may be of conductive material from which the contacts are insulated. The holder 7 consists of insulating material with sockets 8 moulded in a central boss 9 extending into the re-entrant part. Tn a modification, the end surface of the body 4 lies in, or projects slightly beyond, the plane of the bulb, and one or more of the contacts consist of parts of a press-stud.
