Delivery of articles stored in piles.-A pivoted catch plate 23 drops behind the rear edge of a packet 18 in a delivery drawer 5, when the drawer is fully pulled out after prepayment, to prevent the drawer from being closed by return springs until the packet is removed. The plate 23 is pivoted in slotted brackets 19 so that it can be adjusted up or down to suit the thickness of the packets when the machine is provided with a magazine adjustable in size as described in Specification 338,354; or the plate may be fixed in position and the drawer provided with packing pieces. A spring controlled pawl 10 engages a rack 8 on the drawer to ensure a full stroke.
