Abstract
337,714. Scharfenbergkupplung Akt.- Ges., (Assignees of Heimerle, F.). March 13, 1929, [Convention date]. Draw - gear. - An automatic coupling a for railway &c. vehicles that can readily be moved from an operative to an inoperative position is supported on an ordinary coupling- hook g by means of lazy-tong mechanisms associated with springs i. In the construction shown two lazy-tongs each comprising four links b, b<1>, c, c<1> are connected to each other and to the coupler-head a and hook g by bolts k, m, n, while the lower ends of the two springs i are anchored to a bolt h passing through cranked extensions of the links c<1>. At their upper ends the springs are secured to a cross beam d formed at its centre with a pocket t adapted to rest on the point s of the hook g. The beam d is provided with a handle f so that it can easily be displaced from the hook, and the coupler-head and lazy-tongs allowed to drop to the inoperative position.
