Axle-trucks and bogies.-An articulated road or railway vehicle carriage in which the parts are adapted to turn in the horizontal plane comprises a. central carriage part a, Fig. 1, and two end carriage parts e which support the central carriage through pivots b. The bogies d are spring supported and carry bodies e of a similar profile to the central carriage part a, and doors f are provided in the end part e for the entrance of passengers to the central carriage part a.. The spaces between the end carriage parts e and the central carriage part a are bridged by bellows g. Two or more articulated carriages are connected by rigid coupling rods i, the adjacent ends of the carriages being connected by a bellows h. In a modification the adjacent ends e<1>, e<1>, Fig. 2, of two articulated carriages are slidably mounted on the bogies and abut so as to leave a gangway of the full width of the vehicle, a coupling rod i<1> connecting the two vehicles together. The coupling rods may be locked against pivotal movement by depending members on the bogie. The end carriage parts c serve as the driver's cab in which the driving engine may be placed. The central part a may, in addition, be supported by bogies.
