Abstract

337,349. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. June 26, 1929, [Convention date]. Alloys.-Austenitic chromium steel or chromium-nickel steel alloys contain also such a proportion of vanadium or titanium or both as to enter into stable combination with the carbon dissolved in the austenitic basic mass and retain the alloy in austenitic form even when it has been heated to a temperature such as 500-800‹ C. The amount of titanium or vanadium is preferably at least twice the carbon. The alloys may contain 0.07 per cent of carbon, 18-25 per cent of chromium, 7-12 per cent of nickel, and up to 2 per cent or more of vanadium or titanium or both.
