Abstract
508,619. Alloys. KRUPP AKT.-GES., F. May 2, 1938, No. 13080. Convention date, May 7, 1937. [Class 82 (i)] Articles which, after being welded, are subjected without subsequent high-temperature heat-treatment to attack by corrosive agents, are made from austenitic or austenitic-ferritic steel alloys containing chromium and either manganese or nickel or both, and containing also 0.05-1.5 per cent of nitrogen. The alloys may contain up to 1 per cent of carbon, 5-40 per cent of chromium and 4-35 per cent of manganese, the manganese being wholly or partly replaceable by equal amounts of nickel. Up to a total of other elements such as tungsten, molybdenum, cobalt, copper, silicon and phosphorus may also be present.
