Abstract

337,127. New-Hudson, Ltd., and Hayes, F. Sept. 12, 1929. Casings.-The protruding stems b and the rockers f<1> of overhead valves are enclosed in casings d which are bolted at d<1> to the cylnder head and fitted with sides caps d<3> secured by nuts d' on the pivots e of the rockers. Semicircular openings on the casings and covers register to form attachments d<5> for the upper ends of tubes a<1> enclosing the tappet rods. In a modification, a single casing encloses both the rockers and valve stems. The invention may be applied to engines having overhead cams.
