Abstract

336,922. Chemische Fabrik vorm. Sandoz. Feb. 15, 1929, [Convention date]. Aluminium gluconates; double salts.- Soluble aluminium compounds, forming stable solutions, are obtained by reacting aluminium compounds with gluconic acid or its salts. Aluminium sulphate may for instance be reacted with alkaline earth metal gluconates, preferably in the presence of alkaline earth metal hydroxides and the gluconate solution be evaporated to dryness or be precipitated with alcohol. The acid salts obtained may be neutralized with alkali or ammonia, or a neutral salt may be obtained directly by reacting an alkali aluminate solution with gluconic acid.
