F r a m e s, foun,dations, and supports.- In a machine group comprising an internalcombustion engine - driven generator for driving a vehicle, the engine and generator shafts are rigidly but detachably coupled and the engine and generator casings are connected together at at least three points in such a manner as to eliminate vibration and allow accessibility to the shafts and bearings. Fig. 1 shows an arrangement in which the engine 1 and generator 2 are coupled together at two lower points by means of frame members 7, bolted to the two units, and one central upper point by means of an intermediate member 16 screwed into flanges 17, 18 on the two units. The shafts are detachably coupled at 3. In the form shown in Figs. 3 and 4, the two casings are coupled by bolted lugs 21, 22, 23 disposed at the three points of a triangle.
