Lids, opening; contents, viewing. - A c a s e for holding packets of cigarettes comprises end walls 4, a bottom 5, side walls each formed of right-angularly turned flanges 41, 51, 6 integral with the end walls and bottom and a twopart cover 12, 23 opening longitudinally of the mouth of the case and hinged to the flanges 6 of the side walls: the hinge pins 16 engage bearings 7-10 bent from the flanges 6 and bearings 13, 14, 15 bent from each cover part and springs 17 throw the cover parts to the open position when a flat spring, carrying lugs 22 engaging slots 21 in the cover parts, is pressed inwards by means of a button 26. The open sides of the case expose the contents thereof.
