Abstract

336,278. Siemens & Halske Akt.-Ges. Oct. 25, 1928, [Convention date]. Type-printing telegraphs.-Relates to case-shift mechanism and comprises means for preventing the errors in transmission which arise when the operator forgets to shift from numerals to letters or vice versa. A separate key is provided for each character, and keys 6 or keys 7 belonging to the case not in use are locked by a bar 8 which can be moved to right and left by means of the shift keys 9, 10 respectively. In one position the letter keys 6 and in the other the numeral keys 7 are locked by the teeth 11 against depression. The character keys 6, 7, set the positions of five selector bars 1 which permit or prevent, as the case may be, opening of contact 3 under the control of cam 5.
