Abstract

326,914. Booth, J. B. S., and Lanston Monotype Corporation, Ltd. Jan. 9, 1929. Strip - perforating machines. - Relates to machines of the kind described in Specification 17199/08, in which the keys F, Fig. 4, operate the punches through permutation mechanism comprising sliding bars D, rocking bails C, and valve-operating bars A. In order to permit of change in the signals produced by the keys, some of the valve-operating bars are provided with one or more additional lugs, which can be moved into and out of operative position as desired. The bar A, Fig. 2, which is provided with a fixed upstanding lug A', has pivoted to it a supplementary bar B, bearing lugs B<1>, B<2>. The supplementary bar is held in either operative or inoperative position by means of holes B<2>, B', which engage a projection on the bar A.
