Paints. -An improved bituminous paint, is made by adding to a paint composed of bitumen or pitch, a volatile solvent, a pigment or mineral filler and a vegetable drying oil, tannic acid in the proportion of 5 to 15 per cent by volume of the remainder ol the paint. A paint composed of 45 lbs. of pitch, 25 gallons of turpentine, 6 lbs. of litharge and 6 lbs. of boiled oil is a suitable one to which tannic acid may be added. Specification 13721/88 is referred to.
