Abstract

336,031. Dunker, H. C. L. July 26, 1929. Vulcanizing boots &c.-In the method of making galoshes and like footwear formed wholly or partly of rubber wherein the galosh parts. mounted on a press last, are pressed in, a mould to cause the rubber to flow, and the galosh is subsequently vulcanized outside the press, the parts are pressed and pre-vulcanized in the mould to an extent sufficient to impart to the galosh its final, finished, shape. This pre-vulcanization is carried out rapidly. The galosh can then be removed from the last without danger of deformation, and is afterwards finished by vulcanization, for example by being carried through a vulcanizing chamber on a transport device.
