Abstract

335,871. Soc. Anon. A. Saurer. Feb. 1, 1929, [Convention date]. Variable-speed gearing. - An auxiliary twospeed over-driving gear 3 is controlled from the control lever 4 of the main change-speed gear 2 in any position of the lever 4. The gearing 3 is changed by moving a double clutch 16 by a quickthrow-over lever 13 connected by a link 12 to a toothed sector 11 pivoted on the gear casing 2. The sector 11 is engaged by a pinion turning with a pinion 8 mounted within the ball pivot of the lever 4 and meshing with a rack 7 sliding in the lever 4. The clutch 16 may be operated in any position of lever 4 by raising or lowering a knob 6 which is connected to the rack 7 by a plunger 5.
