Abstract
279,568. Nix, A. Aug. 3, 1926. Road-traffic signals on vehicles.-Signal devices 15, 16 at the ends of a longitudinal shaft 11 extending from front to rear of a vehicle are operated through gearing 10 on a shaft 7 in geared connection with the steering column 2. A gear 8 on the shaft 7 may be declutched from the shaft by a handle 18, enabling the signals to be given by actuation of the handle. The members 15, 16 are preferably in the form of arrows having green and white, and red and white glazed surfaces. In addition, the rear arrow may have a section with green glazing adapted to be lit on release of the accelerator pedal 38 and a switch 39 enables the section to be separately actuated, while the other sections are lit automatically on operation of the signals.
