Abstract

335,238. Roberts, J. June 17, 1929. Ventilating mines. - Ejector apparatus for removing gas and dust-laden air from mines comprises two or more horizontal pipes or barrels 6 extending between headers 9, 10 connected respectively to exhaust and suction pipes 1, 8 each barrel being provided near the suction end with a jet nozzle 5 supplied with water, steam, or air under pressure and having a closed end with a number of perforations. The suction pipe 8 is provided with branches extending to appropriate points in the mine. In the apparatus shown an overhead tank 2 supplies water under pressure to the jet nozzles 5. Dust passes with the waste water through a drain 7.
