Fats and fatty oils, extracting by solvents.- In dry-cleaning and the like machines having one or more safety doors opening outwards should the benzine &c. explode, the charging door is provided with means locking it against internal pressure, and preferably with means causing automatic closing of the open door in case of fire. In the rotatable inner cage machine shown, safety doors 2 are hinged at the top rear side, of the casing 1, and the charging door on a pivot 4a at the front. Hinged to the door 4 is a closure plate 6 for the usual drip trough 5 secured to the casing 1, and secured to the plate 6 is a strengthening piece 6<a> having flanges 6b, 6<c> adapted to fit against the trough and the lower end of the door and so lock the door against outward movement; side flanges 6d slide over the ends of the trough. Preferably a lip 5a on the trough, and an outwardly projecting lip 6<e> on the flange 6<b> are provided so as to lock upon slight outwaxd movement of the door due to internal pressure. The door is released by first tilting the cover 6 by means of handles 7 hinged to the door 4 and to links 9 pivoted to the cover 6. When open the door is held against a spring buffer or buffers 10 or other shock absorbing device by means of a weight 11 and a chain or like 12 secured to the open edge of the door 4 by a fusible pin. In case of fire the pin melts, the weight falls, and the door closes by gravity aided or not by the expansion of the spring of the buffer 10. The fuse pin may be mounted in brackets arranged in a small gap in the strengthening piece 6a and door 4.
