Abstract
335,017. O'Brien, T., and Dewar, J. Aug. 12, 1929. Lids.-In saucepan &c. lid-raising means of the kind comprising a lever pivotally mounted on the vessel and actuated either directly or by movement of a rod 15 extending through the handle, the lid is secured to the long arm 19 of the lever by being furnished with a metal strap taking thereover and formed with one or more inwardlyextending projections adapted to engage spaced apertures formed in the end of the lever. In Figs. 1 and 2 the end of the lever lies flat on the lid under the strap 31 with the projection 33, and in Fig. 3 perpendicular thereto under the strap 21 provided with projections 24 on one or both sides. A saddle piece 34, Fig. 5, pivotally connected by a stem working in a slot in the handle to the rod 15, may replace the usual knob 16. The rim of the lid is shown provided with vent apertures 35.
