Abstract

334,681. Penate, E. M., and Fernandez, J. J. Aug. 7, 1929. Bottles, non-refillable.-A stopper for a non- refillable bottle comprises a tubular member 4 containing valve devices and held in position by an expanding ring 6 co-operating with recesses 3, 7 in the bottle neck and the member 4 respectively, washers 10, 11 forming a tight joint. The member 4 is chambered to receive a valve housing 5 open at the bottom and secured by an apertured plug 15 and a washer 19. The valve comprises a cork &c. disc 26, disposed beneath a distance piece 27 and ball 29. The piece 27, Fig. 9, is provided with star-shaped flanges 28. Upon inverting the bottle, the members 26, 27, 29 move away from the plug 15 and the liquid escapes through apertures 16, 22, 14. In a modification, Fig. 16, the recess 3 is formed in an extension 31 of the neck and a groove is formed in the valve containing member to accommodate the part 30. In another form, Fig. 25, the groove 3 is formed exteriorly on an extension 36 and the corresponding groove is formed interiorly in a depending flange on the valve member.
