Abstract

334,382. Blaschke, E. Aug. 9, 1929, [Convention date]. Hank-type apparatus; spraying travelling materials.-Apparatus for the wet treatment of skein yarns, particularly artificial silk, comprises bars b which are supported on non-movable rails d and are moved relatively thereto, preferably by the links of an endless chain e, so that they are rotated by frictional contact with the rails to move the skeins through the liquor. Movable rails e may be provided, to which cam and crank means impart a combined up and down and to and fro motion so that the bars are periodically lifted from the rails d. The linear speed of rails e is preferably greater than that of the chain c, and the bars are raised by them preferably when they are moving in the same direction as the chain so that on being lifted the bars are rotated in the opposite direction. At certain positions carrying bands k may be fitted, which preferably travel at the same linear speed as the chain, and are adapted to project slightly above the rails d so that on being raised by them the bars b will have no rotation.
